1. Individual Coaching for Direct Sales Team Leaders
Our work together is guided by your needs. When you're pursuing coaching, you are feeling the lack of something, a discomfort or dissatisfaction. In your heart, you know where that discomfort is coming from - that's the core issue we need to focus on.
At each session, we'll always start by identifying your goal for the session, to make sure we're covering the topics that are most important to you. Then we'll dive into that topic. I will use my honed communication skills to support you as a thinking partner. I will listen closely to you, respond to what I hear and ask questions. I will add in the results of my research and experience in direct sales leaders. We'll also talk about your recent successes and challenges.
I start by learning about your specific problems, how you like to work and interact with people, your goals, and a little of your history. I'll provide you with some questions to answer before your first session and we'll cover most of this during our first session.
Individual coaching offers:
- Support
- Guidance
- Accountability
- A second opinion, and objective advice as needed.
Format. Each session will be 50 minutes long and conducted over the phone. You can call in from any location; there's no commute required. We'll schedule each session at your convenience.
In each teleconference, we'll cover a different topic. You'll have a short homework assignment to complete during the period before the next teleconference. If you like, I can record each teleconference for you to download and listen to again at a later date.
All our conversations will be confidential.
Topics. The first session is a business checkup, to learn where you are right now with your business and with your marketing efforts. We also look at your strengths.
Subsequent sessions are determined by your particular business goals. The kinds of topics that clients are most often interested in are:
- An attitude and energy check. What parts of your business and yourself do you feel energized and positive about? In which areas do you have negative feelings that drag you down? We'll work to align your attitudes and energy with the successful life you want to have.
- Your schedule and time management. Are you comfortable with how you spend your time? Are you consistently taking high-value actions to maximize your time and results?
- Defining your ideal clients and ideal team members. Who are they? Where are you likely to find them? What motivates them to buy your product or service, or to join your team? What language will connect with them?
- Your professional identity: what's unique about you and your services/products? What's unique about the experience you provide your customers?
- Your leadership style. What is your style? How do you like to connect with others? To recognize them?
- We'll develop marketing messages that you'll use in writing and when speaking to prospects. These messages describe what you offer, how you do it, and what benefits your customers receive. And they include great stories about your work with your team and your clients!
- We'll review your current marketing materials, so they align the messages you want to send.
- How to develop an integrated marketing plan, so you are communicating with customers and prospects in multiple ways, and so that each of your marketing methods reinforces at least one other method. For example, your newsletter can promote an upcoming event or a special offer. Then at the event, you can make another offer to prospects, as well as recruiting more to add to your list.
- We'll look at key ways to find potential consultants and customers, through speaking, networking, hosting events, advertising, and creating strategic alliances. We'll determine which venues are best for your business.
- We'll make sure that you have an effective follow up system, so you can keep in touch with prospects and eventually convert them. For many businesses, newsletters have a critical role in keeping in touch with prospects and current customers.
- We'll delve into how to use the Internet to communicate with your team, particularly when they live far from you, to develop new customers and to communicate with existing customers. This includes discussions about web sites, email newsletters, writing articles, blogs, and social networking tools.
- How to use newsletters. These are a great way to communicate with your team and to stay in touch with prospects who are interested in your service but aren't ready to commit right now. They're also a great way to move your existing customers through the full array of products or services that you offer. Scared of writing a newsletter article? Don't be. We'll talk about what's involved in writing a newsletter article - it's less effort than you might think. If you absolutely don't want to write articles. we'll also talk about article banks. They contain thousands of articles online that you can use for free.
Pricing. The investment in individual coaching is $450/month, for 3 50-minute sessions. This is a professional service that is typically tax-deductible; check with your tax advisor about your situation.

3. Laser Coaching for Direct Sales Team Leaders
Laser coaching is a two-hour call with me, where you set the agenda. We talk about the one or two key issues you'd like to get outside, expert advice on.
Purpose. Laser coaching is perfect for someone who has one or two specific topics they'll like outside expert help with, at a time of their choosing. Or someone who for time or financial reasons isn't able to participate in a ongoing coaching program. For example, if you want to talk about how to start a newsletter: what programs can help; how to develop topics; what are good formats that attract readers. Or websites: is a web site right for you? Who's your intended audience? What kind of content is right for you and them? How do you find a web site designer, or graphics person? How do you obtain a domain name and find a hosting service?
What You'll Get Out of Laser Coaching.
- Get an objective outside look at your issue.
- My expert advice applied to your specific problem
- Just-in-time help, when you need it, when you have time and money for it.
Format. This is a two-hour teleconference with me, in which we'll discuss the topics you are most concerned with. I'll provide you with my advice based on my years of being an entrepreneur, further resources to help (e.g., a web designer to contact, a book that covers the topic in more detail, a web site.). I'll record the call and send you a link, so you can listen to it again later. I'll also send you a typed summary of the call. Towards the end of the call, we'll summarize/synthesize what we've discussed and talk about how to organize your activities into a plan, with a timeline. By the time we get off the phone, I want to make sure you're comfortable with what to do next.
Pricing. The investment in laster coaching is $275 for a two-hour session. This is a professional service that is typically tax-deductible; check with your tax advisor about your situation.

4. MasterMind Groups
Purpose. The purpose of this group is to connect women who are direct sales team leaders and want to move their business to a new level with other similarly motivated women. Each woman has different goals and a different definition of success.
This is perfect for the woman who wants help in accomplishing her goals, via brainstorming and accountability, and who is comfortable setting her own goals. If you're self-motivated and well-organized and you know what you need to do for your business, but have had a hard time focusing on that topic, this group is right for you.
What You'll Get Out of a MasterMind Group.
Brainstorming. You'll be able to access wisdom and experience from multiple people, who have a different way of doing business and thinking than you do. A group often creates a better idea than an individual.
Accountability. Each person will set a goal during the teleconference for the actions and results they plan to achieve in the next month. Having accountability to the group will help you forward.
Support. Everyone in the group is committed to helping each other succeed. We're here each month to help you in whatever way you need. We'll celebrate your successes and learn from each other's failures. Belonging to a group also helps reduce a sense of isolation that can occur in a home-based business.
Format. Each MasterMind group consists of 4-7 people, who are willing to commit to being part of the group for a year. If you try the format and don't like it, you can quit at any time during the first three months. After that, it's assumed you are making a commitment to participate in the group for a year. At the end of the year, each group can decide whether they want to continue on. There are MasterMind groups around the world that have been in existence for decades!
MasterMind groups can be company-specific (e.g., only for Doncaster consultants) or they can be mixed, including women from different businesses.
Each group has a 60-90-minute teleconference once a month, at a regular day and time. I facilitate the teleconference, to make sure everyone has their fair share of "air time" and to keep the call format on schedule. I record each call, which is available to you to listen to again and/or download it to your computer. I also send out a summary of the call, highlighting the key points we discussed.
Our teleconferences generally follow this format:
- Greetings
- Success stories
- Discussion of a specific topic. I'll send out the topic in advance. Some topics may be industry-specific; others will be general.
- MasterMinding/Brainstorming. You'll identify an upcoming challenge you'd like help with, and the group will come up with ideas.
- Goals for the upcoming month
- Closing
Guidelines
- Listen with respect.
- Share your experiences, positive and negative.
- Treat every call as confidential, at all times.
- Respect each other and treat each other with care.
- Be willing to be held accountable.
- Suspend your assumptions, both about yourself and about others and their opinions.
Commitment
- You must participate in all conferences for the group (except for vacations and emergencies). This is critical for the group's success. Each member has to know that the other members are as fully committed to the group as they are.
Pricing. The investment in a MasterMind group is $50/month, for one session that lasts about 90 minutes. This is a professional service that is typically tax-deductible; check with your tax advisor about your situation.
