The physical changes are reinforcing the mental changes I've experienced this year. Not only are my thoughts and emotions changing, my physical environment has totally changed! I'm even buying a new smaller desk, because my old one is so big that I keep it messy. You can see a picture of my cat Dash relaxing amongst the piles of paper. While my house was on the market, I was using a much smaller desk provided by my stagers. During that time, I kept my office much neater and I found it was easy to do so. I want that feeling back again. Your inner and your outer life are inextricably linked. Each aspect - interior and exterior - supports and amplifies the other. If you've felt an extra burst of energy after you cleaned off your desk, you know what I mean. My business is constantly evolving as I evolve. In this week's feature article, I share my biggest lesson from 2010. Best wishes for your abundant success in 2011! Marcy Upcoming EventsJanuary 22, 2011. My biggest lesson from 2010 is that my business is constantly showing me where I carry wounds that need healing. And when I heal that wound, I feel great! I'm more secure and grounded in myself; I have more self-confidence. I have much less second-guessing and fewer imaginary conversations with other people inside my head. As I am healed, I'm able to heal others. As I am healed, my business grows. I can have new responses to situations that used to bring out the worst in me. Instead of procrastinating, over-analyzing, and avoiding things, I'm able to quickly and easily make decisions and move forward without emotional back-and-forth and second-guessing. The Christmas season brings so many tensions to the forefront:
(Those last two tensions are my own :-) ) Did your holiday tensions show up on that list? Or are you feeling some strong emotions about a different issue? If this season is bringing out strong emotions in you - you feel stressed, you're angry, or you're just overwhelmed - then it's likely that one of your deepest childhood wounds is being activated. That means you feel a lot of negative, lower-level emotions. Whenever your childhood wounds are activated, you will be experiencing a return of your favorite childhood coping pattern - the one you created when you were 5 or 6 years old (or even younger). The problem with this pattern is that it doesn't work, on any level. It doesn't help you feel better; your emotions are just as raw as ever. And it also doesn't help you create better relationships with the people who might be making you crazy over the holiday - aka your family and possibly your clients. Personally, I've been shown where I need healing, right NOW, through one business situation and through one family Christmas argument. These happened within 48 hours of each other. No doubt about it, this is THE area I need to heal now. If I ignore that, the Universe will just present me with more opportunities until I finally get the message. I'm also having coaching calls with clients who are having their own holiday A-HA's about which wounds need to be healed. Your business is a mirror - everything you see in the mirror is a reflection of who you are. It's not a reflection of the outside world, it's a reflection of you. So if you don't like what you see in your business, turn your gaze inward and see where your wound is. You're ready to be healed. CALL TO ACTIONTake a couple of deep breaths, then close your eyes and ask yourself: How have I been feeling this holiday? If you're feeling a higher level of negative emotions: frustration, anger, irritation, guilt or shame, then look at which situations have brought those emotions up most vividly. Who were you talking to? What was the subject? What was the response that really set you off? Remember that this is most likely tied to your childhood experiences. What childhood experiences does this remind you of? What does your wounded inner child want? And how can YOU give that to yourself?
Remember that no one else needs to give you permission, or apologize, or suffer, in order for you to be healed. You can heal yourself any time, through self-love.
If you are ready for a bigger business in 2011 AND deeper healing for yourself, then it's time for a complimentary Success Session with me. I can help you cut through the anger, fear, and mists of uncertainty. Then we can focus on your goals, the obstacles you're creating that block your success, and next steps to help you heal, so you can create an abundant 2011. You can easily schedule your complimentary Success Session by clicking here. Here's what a recent Success Solutions participant had to say about their experience. "I felt that the time that we spent discussing my business and where I am poised to go with it was worth every minute. You know what you are doing and it is obvious that you have spent many hours (probably as obsessively as I have) in developing your services/product in to a truly elegant offering. I SOOOO appreciate the investment of your time and expertise in this little mini-session. It has already paid off, as far as starting to redirect my thought patterns and my expectations." Gwynne C.
